About Me

My name is Jay Replogle. I live in a small town in the Upper Cumberland area of Middle Tennessee. I have had a love for blades dating back to my early childhood. Dragons, wizards, swords, and knights were always in my imagination. My brother and I would craft wooden swords and battle monsters in the backyard. However, it was in my travels to historic sights that introduced me to the blacksmith. It seemed the every pioneer village or antique engine show had a blacksmith. I was completely mesmerized by this ancient craft. As I grew older this fascination changed from dream to reality. I earned my BFA with a concentration in metals in 2008 from The Appalachian Center for Craft, which is a satellite campus of Tennessee Technological University and a nationally accredited School of Art, Craft, and Design. Through my studies, I have honed my craft in traditional Japanese sword-making as well as blades from around the world. My eclectic base of skills includes hunting knives, spears, axes, and swords done the the traditional ways.
